
The Accreditation Procedure
The laboratory applying for
accreditation will be assessed in accordance with internationally recognized
criteria, namely the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025. The accreditation process can be
divided into four stages:

Application Procedure

Request for accreditation.

Application for
accreditation.

Reviewing of the
application and submitted documents for adequacy.

Application
receipt confirmation.
-
Signing
contract with applicant.
-
Estimation of the
costs and agreement on the accreditation proceedings.
2-
Assessment Procedure
-
Selection of
assessors according to the recommendations of the Technical Committee, if
necessary.
-
Informing the
applicant of the names of the nominated assessors and seeking the agreement of the
applicant on the assessors.
-
Appointment of
assessors.
-
Assessment of
the quality manual and related documents.
-
On-site
assessment: verification of conformity with ISO/IEC 17025 and of technical
competence on the basis of the scope of accreditation.

Assessment
report.
3- Accreditation
Procedure
-
Evaluation of
the technical assessment reports by the Technical Committee, if
needed.
-
Decision on
accreditation by the Accreditation Committee.
-
Accreditation
certificate.
-
Publication of
the accreditation in the Official Gazette and registration in the Jordanian
Conformity Assessment database.
4- Surveillance Procedure
-
Annual
surveillance visits.
-
Surveillance
by inter-laboratory comparisons, proficiency tests and surveillance of documents.
-
Renewal of
accreditation after five years, upon the request of the laboratory.
