Amendment of Jordanian
Technical Regulation No. 115/2005
concerning Cementـ White Portland Cement

Consistent with the policies of Jordan Institution for Standards and Metrology of preparation and amendment of Jordanian Technical regulations/ Jordanian Standards to comply with International Standards and keep abreast of scientific developments, the permanent committee for Building Materials (2) has studied and amended the Jordanian regulation No. 115/2005 of Cement – White Portland Cement , and made the following amendments:
1- The approved references are ( European Standard No. 197-1/2000 and Gulf Standard No. 488/1994)
2- The inclusion of all types of cements: CEM I, CEM II, CEM III, CEM IV, CEM V and their twenty-seven products. Along with the mechanical, physical and chemical properties of each type according to the European Standard 197-1/2000.
3- Amending the degree of whiteness of White Portland Cement to become greater than or equal to 80 % while maintaining the clause regarding writing the degree of whiteness on the label. instead of the former classification (Extremely white : greater than 90 % , and Normal white : from 80 to 90 %) according to Gulf Standard 488/1994.
Noting that the Permanent Technical Committee for Building Materials (2) have
completed the review of the technical regulation and the draft would be
circulated to vote to Chambers of Industry and Chambers of Commerce and the
scientific research bodies and other concerned parties to the matter of subject
of this technical regulation, to give their opinion and feedback, for the
approval of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Institution for Standards and
Metrology.
